How we work

This page provides you with an overview of how we work and the steps we take when developing a new website project. If you have any additional questions, please drop us a line or check out our FAQs page.

• Step 1 - Compatibility

  The first step is to see if we’re a good fit! Once you have read our Getting Started page and decided that you would like to get in touch, you can do so by completing our contact form. The questions on this form have been designed to make you think about your business and your goals. They require honest answers in order for us to provide you with a measured and appropriate quote.

• Step 2 - The Proposal

  Once we decide if the project is feasible, we will arrange a face-to-face meeting (in person or via Skype / Facetime) if necessary to fill in any gaps and get the full picture. We will then produce a Proposal for your project, including a full fee schedule and timeline.

• Step 3 - Sitemap

  Once you have accepted our Proposal, the project can begin in earnest! We will produce a visual sitemap which is used to create a structure for the new pages on your website, including the all-important navigation.

• Step 4 - Wireframe Prototype

  We will require the majority of content to be available at this point in order for us to populate the various pages on your site and provide you with a clickable prototype. This will take the form of your new website in a wireframe format (no design, graphics or colour treatments). Once everybody is happy with the structure and content, we can begin the design process.

• Step 5 - Design & Development

  From years of experience, a site that has the content nailed down first provides a much better customer experience and scores considerably higher in terms of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). Far too often a page is over-designed before the content is decided upon, which reduces the effectiveness of the page and the website overall. We use this stage to apply the design elements, agreed colour palette and your chosen fonts.

• Step 6 - Delivery

  In the final stretch, we build in the extra functionality as agreed in the first couple of steps and get your site ready for the outside world. We will code, test and re-test your website before sending you a link for final sign-off at which point your brand new website will be live!
