DP&L Group were looking to launch their new Golf enquiry service in Autumn 2015 and wanted a simple website, using existing photography and detail pages for their various offers. Due to the flexible nature of a Golfing break and the amount of possible variations in the booking (players, rounds, club hire, accommodation, flights etc) the focus of the site would need to be gathering the relevant information from the traveller(s) rather than committing them to a set package. The site would need to present the various packages by area and then allow the customers to filter through to a universal contact form, which would change depending on the previous selection and path taken through the website.
Having looked at a number of bespoke holiday booking services online, we decided that the best approach was to provide DP&L Golf with a ‘portfolio’ style website, based on the WordPress Platform, and hosted at WPEngine.com (for speed, scalability and reliability). One universal contact form would be created to accept parameters from each ‘portfolio’ item, thereby reiterating the package deal, price and availability whilst requesting the relevant information from the Golfers. The site would be built to responsive (mobile-friendly) from the ground up.
The new website has given DP&L Travel a means by which they can separate their bespoke Golf offer from their standard Leisure Travel Business. Although the market is very competitive, this website has provided a robust and search-engine friendly catalogue for the golfing enthusiast from home and abroad.
